What is Host Catholic?
In 2017 Cardinal O'Malley called for the parishes of Holy Family and St. Pius V in Lynn, MA to begin working as a Collaborative parish, meaning that both parishes will work together, under one pastor and staff, to welcome and nurture all as Disciples of Jesus Christ. In recognizing the rich history of faith in both of our parishes we combined the first letters in "HO"ly Family and the "ST". Pius V and created HOST Catholic Collaborative of Lynn.
The term HOST has been used by Catholics for many generations to describe the bread used for the Eucharist, the body of Christ, at Mass. As individual parishes we celebrate that the reception of the Host, the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, unites us in one Body and one family of faith. As St. Paul writes, "Though we are many, we are one body in Christ." We welcome you to our Collaborative website and invite you to discover our family at Host Catholic Collaborative in Lynn.
